BREAKING: Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series come together; strike a mega deal for Ranveer Singh's Takht

Bollywood Hungama was the first to report that Fox Star Studios had backed out of Karan Johar’s ambitious period drama, Takht, which rides on a formidable ensemble comprising of Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar. The studio was not having a good run at the box-office this year with the hat-trick of failures in Chhapaak, Panga and Baaghi 3 and they pulled out of Takht due to scheduling and budget conflict.

BREAKING: Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series come together; strike a mega deal for Ranveer Singh's Takht

And now, we have exclusively learnt that Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions has partnered with Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series for his magnum opus. “Karan has been trying to get a studio partner on board since it’s a big budget film and requires constant inflow of money. He is planning it on a massive scale, and making the film without a studio was never a feasible option. He had multiple conversations with LYCA Productions from South too, but the two could not reach a common ground and the deal was called off,” revealed a source close to the development.

Soon after, Karan met Bhushan, who loved the script and the vision and readily agreed to partner. “It’s a huge deal, and a first collaboration between Dharma and T-Series. This could probably be the beginning of a new partnership between the two esteemed producers of Bollywood,” the source informed adding further that the entire shooting schedule of the period drama has gone for a toss owing to the on-going coronavirus pandemic, and Karan is at present working on the script, costumes and other aspects of pre-production from his home. “It’s a dream project and he is leaving no stone unturned to make Takht the biggest film of his career.”

Bhushan Kumar was recently in the news for contributing Rs. 11 crore to the PM-CARES fund, and a crore more to the CM Relief Fund to help the government in fighting the coronavirus pandemic. The music baron also has the plans to expand his production house into newer avenues, and Takht is just a step forward in this aspect.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Tahira Kashyap to financially support women ragpickers in Delhi during coronavirus crisis

Ayushmann Khurrana and Tahira Kashyap are a socially conscious couple who are extremely vocal about issues and are always looking to contribute and support people in need. The couple has for years supported a non-profit organization in Delhi, Gulmeher - a women's collective of waste-pickers turned artisans. Such lower income groups have been really hit hard economically with the all India lockdown during the COVID-19 crisis and Ayushmann and Tahira have come forward to support them financially!

Ayushmann Khurrana and Tahira Kashyap to financially support women ragpickers in Delhi during coronavirus crisis

Ayushmann, who has already donated to PM-CARES Fund, says, “Coronavirus has impacted people from every strata of life. But it has hit the lower income groups the hardest and it is our duty as citizens of this nation to come forward and support the people in dire need. Tahira and I have been associated with Gulmeher, a non-profit organization, for years and we are doing every bit possible to support these women who are absolutely distraught now.”

Gulmeher works with about 200 women ragpickers and this contribution will help them look after themselves and their families.

“My interactions with them taught me a lot about India, taught me a lot about the existing caste divides and they are real life inspiring figures. My interactions with them was my inspiration behind signing Article 15. Crisis like these impacts people like them the most and we need to protect them. In this critical moment, Tahira and I are doing our best to ensure they have all the basic requirements to sustain and stay safe by being at home. Along with donating for PM-CARES, we are also doing our small bit to take care of these incredible women of Gulmeher,” says Ayushmann, without disclosing the total contributions made by the couple. The star has never ever revealed the amount of work he does for the people in need.

Tahira says that how Indians support each other in this moment of crisis will define us as a nation! “While us Indians are impacted with COVID-19, for some people the impact will be much more destabilizing, especially economically. We have to protect the lower-income, daily wage earning community like our brothers and sisters in this time of crisis.”

She adds, “How we support our fellow citizens of the country at this hour will define us as human beings and Ayushmann and I are doing our bit to support these wonderful women who are braving the coronavirus impact. We are doing whatever it takes for them to support their families and stay at home with them. Due to their financial instability, they are at serious risk because even a single day without earning throws their life out of gear. Ayushmann and I are ensuring we stand with them and support them at this time.”

K-pop star Jaejoong of JYJ group clarifies about testing positive for Coronavirus, says it was April Fool's Day joke

Many celebrities around the world have tested positive for coronavirus and currently getting treated for the same. South Korean group JYJ's Kim Jaejoong revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently hospitalized. But that ain't the truth.

K-pop star Jaejoong of JYJ group has tested positive for Coronavirus, says he has been hospitalized

Taking to his Instagram, the K-pop star wrote, "I  have been infected with COVID-19. It is a result of my negligence, ignoring the cautionary words shared by the government and those around me. A person’s individual actions can have such a big impact on society as a whole. I am so sorry to those who may have been infected because of me. My foolish judgment to live as though it couldn’t happen to me is why I am like this today.

"I am currently hospitalized. I am reflecting on my past a lot and feeling both grateful and sorry. There are many things I want to say. There are many people I want to see so much" the translation (by Soompi) read.

Soon, after the post went viral, he deleted it and clarified that it was April Fool's Day joke. "What if the people we love, someone precious to us, contracted the virus? It’s such a heart-wrenching thing to think about. Despite this, so many people walk the streets and live their lives without their guards up, ignoring it… and thinking it won’t happen to them, and it makes me so worried that my family and friends might get sick. Believing that we and the people around us will be safe will end up making us and everything around us sick."

"Currently, a growing number of my acquaintances and industry representatives are being tested positive. It is not something that is far away. When negligence turns a sad premonition into reality, it’s not something that we can simply end by wiping our tears away. Staying on alert right now. That is what I say to myself again and again. Although this did go quite far for April Fool’s Day, so many people worried about me in a short span of time. Oh… and I don’t think of this as an April Fool’s joke. My family and my friends are getting sick.. and dying. It’s never!! just someone else’s problem. I wanted to tell you that protecting myself is protecting the precious people around us. I will accept all the punishment I receive from this post. I hope all of you are healthy," he wrote on Instagram before deleting the post.

Kim Jaejoong is now receiving flak for showing insensitivity during this difficult time.

During Instagram live Q&A, Dwayne Johnson confirmed that they are currently working on the script and trying to figure out the creative and direction of it. "We are developing now the next film, the next [Hobbs & Shaw] movie, and I'm pretty excited about it. Just gotta figure out the creative right now, and the direction we’re going to go." He thanked the fans for making the spin-off a huge success.

Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham reprised their roles as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw in the first installment.  In the film, when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton (Idris Elba) gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever — and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent (The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby), who just happens to be Shaw’s sister — these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than themselves. It was directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2).
