Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 to have a theatrical release on May 20, 2022

With the drop in the number of Covid-19 cases, the government is slowly lifting restrictions in the country. Just yesterday the government removed the night curfew from Mumbai and allowed cinema halls and restaurants to function till 1:30 am in the night. Now, as the situation is slowly getting back to normal and cinema halls are getting operational in a full-fledged mood, various banners have been announcing the updated release date of their films.

After Sanjay Leela Bhansali and SS Rajamouli announced their revised release date of theire respective releases Gangubai Kathiawadi and RRR, T-Series has announced the release date of the Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. As per the announcement the film is all set to hit the theatres on 20th May 2022. While the film was earlier slated to hit theatres on March 25, the makers of the film decided on opting to reschedule the film with the Jr NTR and Ram Charan starrer RRR locked to hit screens on March 25.

As for the film, starring Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has been directed by Anees Bazmee and written by Farhad Samji and Aakash Kaushik. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, and Krishan Kumar under the banner of T-Series and Cine 1 Studios, is scheduled to hit the screens on 20th May 2022.

Whoopi Goldberg suspended from The View for two weeks over controversial comments on Holocaust

American actor-presenter Whoopi Goldberg has been suspended by ABC’s The View after she made controversial comments about Jewish people and the Holocaust. The daytime panel show co-host will be off the program for two weeks after making controversial comments Monday about the Jewish people and the Holocaust in response to a local school board banning the graphic novel Maus.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, ABC News President Kim Godwin announced the decision in a note to staff Tuesday night. She said, “Effective immediately, I am suspending Whoopi Goldberg for two weeks for her wrong and hurtful comments. While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments. The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends, family and communities. These decisions are never easy, but necessary. Just last week I noted that the culture at ABC News is one that is driven, kind, inclusive, respectful, and transparent. Whoopi’s comments do not align with those values.”

Whoopi Goldberg apologized on the program earlier on Tuesday, in a segment that also included an interview with Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt. The controversy erupted on Monday’s show, when Goldberg said during a segment about Maus, “Let’s be truthful about it because Holocaust isn’t about race. It’s not about race. It’s not about race. It’s about man’s inhumanity to man.”

Co-host Ana Navarro responded to Goldberg, saying, “But it’s about white supremacists going after Jews."

Whoopi Goldberg made similar comments on CBS’ Late Show Monday evening, but also released an apology on her social media feeds, saying, “I’m sorry for the hurt that I have caused.”

Superstar Salman Khan will resume shooting for Tiger 3 this Saturday at the swanky Yash Raj Films studios in Mumbai! Keanu Reeves receives backlash from Chinese nationalists over Tibet benefit concert

The Matrix Resurrections star Keanu Reeves is facing the wrath of nationalists in China after it was announced earlier this week that he will be performing at an upcoming benefit concert for Tibet. It was revealed this week that Keanu Reeves will be one of the headliners for the 35th annual Tibet House U.S. Benefit Concert on March 3, alongside artists including Patti Smith, Trey Anastasio and Jason Isbell. Legendary composer Philip Glass is serving as the concert’s artistic director.

Some Chinese social media users, known locally as “little pinks,” have gone so far as to suggest that Reeves’ recently released The Matrix Resurrections should be boycotted in retaliation. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the latest Matrix movie had already flopped in China prior to revelations about Reeves’ involvement in the pro-Tibet event — the film opened to just $7.5 million and has earned $12.4 million to date — so the sudden outrage is unlikely to make much difference to the Warner Bros. title’s bottom line.

Many Western celebrities have seen their personal brands iced out of China’s massive entertainment market after voicing support for Tibet in the past.

Richard Gere has been banned from Chinese screens for years over his vocal support for Tibet. Brad Pitt also was banned for nearly two decades after starring in the film Seven Years in Tibet in 1997. Lady Gaga effectively has been prohibited from performing in the country ever since she met with the Dalai Lama in 2016.

Founded in in 1987, Tibet House is a New York-based educational nonprofit committed to the preservation of Tibetan culture. The group was established by supporters of the Dalai Lama and Beijing authorities have labeled it as a separatist organization advocating for Tibetan independence. China regards the culturally unique Tibetan region as an essential piece of its national territory and any suggestion of Tibetan independence is .

Tom Hiddleston starrer Loki season 2 likely to start shooting this summer in England

The second season of the Tom Hiddleston starrer Loki has been confirmed to be under development. Late last year, it was reported that Loki would start prepping for its second season in February 2022, with filming starting in June.

According to the casting website, Backstage, it was reported that the second season is indeed looking to start filming in the summer. While any specific dates were not announced, they did confirm that the shoot will take place at Pinewood Studios in England. With a mid-year start, and that’s if there are no COVID-related delays, it’s now safe to assume that we won’t be seeing season 2 until early 2023.

Loki is a television series created by Michael Waldron for the streaming service Disney+, based on Marvel Comics featuring the character of the same name. It is the third television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios, sharing continuity with the films of the franchise. The series takes place after the events of the film Avengers: Endgame (2019), in which an alternate version of Loki created a new timeline.

Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as Loki from the film series, with Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Sasha Lane, Jack Veal, DeObia Oparei, Richard E. Grant, and Jonathan Majors also starring. Loki premiered on June 9, 2021. Its first season, consisting of six episodes, concluded on July 14 and is part of Phase Four of the MCU. Matt Smith and Morfydd Clark set to lead Daniel Kokotajlo's supernatural horror Starve Acre

The Crown star Matt Smith has been roped in to star alongside Emmy-nominee Morfydd Clark in BAFTA-nominated writer and director Daniel Kokotajlo’s supernatural horror film titled Starve Acre.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Starve Acre is currently in pre-production and will start shooting later this spring in the U.K. Cornerstone will be handling the worldwide sales and will launch the project at the Berlin Film Festival’s virtual European Film Market (EFM).

The modern horror Starve Acre explores “inherited trauma and loss within a world ruled by supernatural folklore.” Set in rural 1970s England, the story revolves around a couple Richard (Matt Smith) and Juliette (Morfydd Clark) find their idyllic family life disrupted when their son starts acting out of character.

The formerly happy couple grow farther apart when Richard buries himself in exploring a folkloric myth that the ancient oak tree on their land possesses phenomenal powers. While his wife Juliette turns to the local community to find some kind of peace, Richard obsessively digs deeper. An unexpected discovery soon occupies the couple’s attention and “dark and sinister forces” find their way into the home, offer a disturbing possibility of reconnection between them.

Based on the novel by Andrew Michael Hurley, the brooding horror film will be helmed by writer and director Daniel Kokotajlo, who was previously nominated BAFTA Award for his 2017 British drama film Apostasy, which was also in collaboration with Cornerstone. The renowned filmmaker won the IWC Schaffhausen Filmmaker Bursary Award in association with the BFI for Apostasy.

The House Productions feature film will reportedly be produced by Tessa Ross (12 Years a Slave), Juliette Howell (Brexit: The Uncivil War) and Emmy Duffy (Rocks) with Access Entertainment, BBC Film and the BFI funding the film.

Cornerstone’s Alison Thompson and Mark Gooder added: “Daniel’s haunting cinematic vision for Starve Acre is breathtaking, and we’re excited to be able to continue our collaboration with him.”
