Israeli live-action drama The Hood to be remade in India by Abundantia Entertainment

The leading Israeli-based media company Ananey Studios, part of Paramount global, has signed a deal with India’s premier content producer Abundantia Entertainment to develop an Indian remake of the hit Israeli live-action teen drama, The Hood which is originally called Shchuna in Israel. The original series, created by Giora Chamizer (Netflix's Greenhouse Academy) and produced by Ananey Studios, has had three hit seasons (150 x 22') on Nickelodeon in Israel and was also sold to Portugal’s free-to-air channel RTP 2.

The Hood is a daily drama that skillfully combines edgy class struggles with suspenseful action and big doses of fun. A flagship show that has already gotten rave reviews, The Hood is a surefire success among teens, perfectly suitable for family viewing. The series provides the viewers with strong, inspirational protagonists with whom they can identify, a rich and original fictional world, and a gripping plot, which contains exciting surprises and twists throughout the season.

With the announcement of The Hood’s Indian adaptation, Abundantia Entertainment adds to its glittering roster of premium series that boasts of Breathe (2018), Breathe: Into The Shadows (2020), and upcoming titles like Hush Hush, The End, and series, based on the bestselling ‘Rita Ferreira’ books. The producer’s film slate has also met with resounding success with recent releases like Jalsa (2022), Sherni (2021), and Chhorii (2021) adding to its hall of fame that contains titles like Shakuntala Devi (2020), Toilet – Ek Prem Katha (2017) and Airlift (2016).

The series will be produced under the new genre vertical of Abundantia Entertainment – Filters, which creates content that focuses on the young adult demographic. There are multiple films and originals being developed along with The Hood, including the remake of ‘Missing’ and an adaptation of the popular book ‘Along Came a Spyder’, to name a few.

SEVENTEEN reach new career high as SECTOR 17 debuts at No. 4 on Billboard 200 chart

SEVENTEEN have reached another career high with SECTOR 17 scoring the group’s highest Billboard 200 debut at No.4. The album marks the K-pop group's fourth entry into the chart and the first to land Top 5. With the latest charting, the K-pop supergroup is now the first Korean artist in 2022 with multiple top 10 albums on the Billboard 200.

SECTOR 17 tells the story of the idyllic new world the 13-piece act has reached, a place that is distinct to SEVENTEEN and compares to the highest peaks around the world. The lead single “_WORLD” invites the listener to also imagine and define their own ideal world without any limits.

Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty to kick off Singham 3 in April 2023

Ajay Devgn is currently directing his fourth film Bholaa starring Tabu and himself in the lead roles. While he is busy with his other commitments, the actor will reunite with Rohit Shetty again for Singham 3. The third installment has been in the news for a while but it is yet to kick off. But, as per reports, the film will go on the floors in 2023.

According to a media portal, Rohit Shetty confirmed the film will kick off in April, next year. Ajay Devgn is busy with his commitments whereas Rohit Shetty is busy with the post-production of Cirkus starring Ranveer Singh. The prep is slated for next year for the third installment and the filmmaker said that it will be the biggest cop universe ever that they have made till date.

Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty is currently busy with the shoot for Indian Police Force starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi. The filmmaker's Cirkus releases on December 23, 2022. Ajay Devgn, on the other hand, is directing Bholaa. He also has Thank God next with Sidharth Malhotra.

Dia Mirza shares heartbreaking news of niece Tanya Kakde’s death in a car accident: ‘May you find peace and love’

Bollywood actress Dia Mirza has shared a heartbreaking news of her niece Tanya Kakde's death which occurred in a car accident in Hyderabad. Her niece was the daughter of Congress leader Feroz Khan passed away on Monday.

In her heartbreaking post, Dia wrote, “My neice. My child. My jaan. Gone into the light. May you find peace and love wherever you are my darling… you always brought a smile to our hearts and the higher realms will be filled with more light with you dancing, smiling and singing. Om Shanti.”

Several reports state that Tanya Kakde and four of her friends were coming back from Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi international airport when the accident occurred. The onlookers and patrol team rushed them to the hospital. However, Tanya died on the way to hospital.

Taylor Swift’s team responds to backlash over her private jet's carbon footprint

Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift is getting backlash from netizens about her private jet's carbon footprint. The Grammy-winning singer topped a recent study's list of celebrities whose private jets have reportedly produced high amounts of carbon dioxide.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, U.K. based sustainability marketing firm Yard shared a report Friday revealing that the pop superstar’s jet flew 170 times between January 1 and July 19, totaling almost 16 days in the air. The aircraft’s total flight emissions were 8,293.54 tonnes of carbon, which is 1,184.8 times more than the average person’s total annual emissions, the study says.

“Taylor’s jet is loaned out regularly to other individuals,” a spokesperson for Swift told The Hollywood Reporter. “To attribute most or all of these trips to her is blatantly incorrect.” Per the report, Yard used data from the Twitter account @CelebJets for the study, which tracks private jet travels from celebrities. The data was compiled from the beginning of 2022 and included the number of flights taken by each star, average flight times, miles and total CO2 emissions.

Her average flight time was 80 minutes, with the shortest flight, a stint from Missouri to Nashville, clocking in at just 36 minutes. Following Swift, Boxer Floyd Mayweather came in at second place, emitting 7,076.8 tonnes of CO2 across 177 flights. Jay-Z was third, clocking in at 136 flights and emitting 6,981.3 tonnes of CO2.

Others on the list included A-Rod (5,342.7 tonnes of CO2), Blake Shelton (4495 tonnes of CO2), Steven Spielberg (4,465 tonnes of CO2), Kim Kardashian (4268.5 tonnes of CO2), Mark Wahlberg (3772.85 tonnes of CO2), Oprah Winfrey (3,493.17 tonnes of CO2) and Travis Scott, who landed 10th place with 3033.3 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Besides Swift, Drake also received immense criticism earlier this month, after his private jet made a 14-minute flight. The rapper cleared up the controversy by commenting on the Instagram page of @RealTorontoNewz. “This is just them moving planes to whatever airport they are being stored at for anyone who was interested in the logistics. Nobody takes that flight.”

Salman Khan receives weapons license for self-protection after he cites death threats issued to him and his family

Not too long ago, media was abuzz with reports that Salman Khan met the Mumbai police for seeking permission for an arms license. The actor, reportedly, felt quite unsafe after his father Salim Khan received a threatening letter while he went out for a jog one morning. Owing to the same, the superstar sought the help of Commissioner of Police and now it has been confirmed that the actor received his arms license.

As per recent reports, after Salman Khan approached the Mumbai police for help, the licensing authority conducted an investigation before handing over the weapons license. Last month, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star was said to have visited top cop Vivek Phansalkar for a gun license, claiming that he required a gun to protect him and his family. This came after he and his father received death threats, allegedly from Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang. This is not the first time where the Khan family was threatened. Way back in 2018, when the blackbuck case was under process, Bishnoi and his gang had threatened to kill the superstar after he was accused of hunting blackbucks since they are considered sacred in the Bishnoi community.

Furthermore, after the gangster was arrested during the Sidhu Moosewala murder, the threats once again resurfaced. One day, when Salim Khan was taking his usual jog, he came across a threatening letter which claimed that his condition and his son’s will become like that of Moosewala. This unsigned letter was placed on the bench where the veteran writer usually sits to rest during the jog.

Speaking about the arms license, reports had it that soon after the threat, the superstar had approached Mumbai Police and that he also fulfilled the mandatory condition of physical attendance for receiving the gun license.
